Indian weddings are amazing events - incorporating multiple nights of traditional celebration! We shut down Wall Street for this one so the Groom could arrive on the traditional white horse to meet his bride – his family and musical entourage in tow!
Pretty glam, huh? Those Indian fabrics are so completely over the top with their metallic threads and gorgeous color! We made the headpiece that shrouds his face with fragrant stephanotis.
Cipriani Wall Street – at 55 Wall – stands as a triumph of Greek revival architecture, as well as a grand and luxurious venue for events. This New York landmark served as the home of the New York Merchants Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange, the United States Customs House, and the headquarters of the National City Bank. Framed by monolithic columns, Cipriani Wall Street® features a 70-foot ceiling with a Wedgewood dome. Impeccable attention to detail, the finest cuisine and classic service sets the stage for the most sought after social experiences.”
The Mandap is the canopy under which most of the wedding ceremony takes place. Here’s our version with a distinctly classic bent that echoed the grand architecture. It’s all gold and celadon antique hydrangea with creamy Message roses. Ha! Incredibly – the guests had cocktails at a venue across the street while we tore this whole amazing extravaganza down and flipped the room for dinner!
They were a beautiful couple inside and out. Here are a few more pix of interesting aspects of their ceremony. We loved creating the long, full garlands!
Love the Henna!
